“Dollhouse” – Brittany McLamb

North Carolina native Brittany McLamb is a huge fan of 90s country music, and you can’t help but think that some of that era’s biggest icons would admire this stark look at the unexpected emotional turmoil behind a pristine domestic facade. Penned by Marla Cannon-Goodman, Courtney Cole and Michael Davey, “Dollhouse” wouldn’t sound out of place on a Patty Loveless album. McLamb’s strong, supple vocals effectively convey a young wife’s angst as she comes to the realization that her life isn’t at all what she dreamed of while growing up.

With a self-titled EP already to her credit, McLamb is emerging as an intriguing young artist who respects tradition while keeping her sound anchored in the present.
