Since I first heard this song, it’s haunted me. There’s something so beautifully poignant about Australian singer-songwriter Kiera Dall’Osto’s voice. Among a sea of sound-alike vocalists, she immediately stands out. I’m always excited to find artists who can capture my attention and imagination, and with this single, Dall’Osto has done just that.
“Hear The Drums” is the first release off Dall’Osto’s forthcoming debut, due out May 1, 2017. Currently available for pre-order on Bandcamp, the album is produced by Kacy Anderson and Clayton Linthicum (Canadian folk duo Kacy & Clayton). Anderson and Linthicum also played on the record alongside Linthicum’s The Deep Dark Woods bandmate Lucas Goetz.
Dall’Osto grew up singing country music in Queensland. She moved to Canada at 18, where she began to develop her written voice, and she now calls Saskatoon home. Dall’Osto also later spent time living in Nashville. She was formerly part of the vocal group Rosie and the Riveters.
